Born on 28 September 1985, Mouni Roy is an Indian television actress, dancer and singer. She has become a household name with her show ‘Naagin’ Which has topped the TRP chart on that time and garnered her huge success. Mouni Roy has won millions of heart with her beauty, dancing and acting skills. In the year 2007, she started her career as Krishna Tulsi on Ekta Kapoor’s show ‘kyuki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi’. This popular show helped her establishing her name in the television industry.
In 2011, Mouni starred in the Punjabi movie ‘Hero Hitler in Love’. Mouni made fame through the work in series ‘Devo Ke Dev…Mahadev from 2011 to 2014. After the great success of television show ‘Naagin’, she got the chance to work opposite Bollywood’s superstar like Akshay Kumar, Ranbir Kapoor, John Abrahan or many more. In 2018, she hit the big screen with her first lead in the Bollywood film Gold alongside Akshay Kumar.
Early Life & Family
Mouni Roy born in Cooch Behar to a Bengali family from west Bengal. Her father Anil Roy was an office superintendent of the cooch Behar Zilla Parishad while, her mother Mukti was a theatre artist. Her grandfather, Shekhar Chandra Roy was a well-known Jatra theatre artist. She has a younger brother named Mukhar Roy. The beautiful Mouni was always interested in acting and dancing since her childhood. She used to participate in various dance competitions in her school and college days.
She had completed her schooling from kendriya Vidyalaya in Baburhat, Cooch Behar and then went to Delhi. She took up mass communication at Jamia Millia Islamia by the force of her parents only, but she left the course midway and went to Mumbai to try her luck in film and television industry. She did not return to Delhi to complete her education. She appeared as the background dancer in the song Nahi Hona in 2014 film Run.
Relationship
Mouni comes into headline not only for acting skills but also for her relationships, she was in a steady relationship with Gaurav Chopra after they were seen together on the show ‘Pati Patni aur Woh’ in 2009. Although both never spoke publicly about their relationship and believed in keeping everything silent, which finally ended on a sad note. Later, she was rumoured to be dating Mohit Raina, Mouni shared the screen with Mohit in the serial ‘Devo ke Dev Mahadev’, and from there both fell in love with each other but, they soon parted ways in the year 2018. When Mouni was asked about the rumour relationship, she replied, “i don’t want to answer any personal questions.
Now, according to the reports, Mouni has found love again. Last year Mouni was seen enjoying holidays with Dubai based banker, Suraj Nambiar. Both were seen spending quality times and Suraj Nambiar was also spotted in Mouni’s birthday too. Again when Mouni Roy appeared on the special screening of Salman khan movie ‘Bharat’, many people claimed on the social media that she has undergone yet another plastic surgery and she looks ‘weird’. Maybe it was because of her makeup as she denied from any such surgery.
Mouni Roy was a part of Nawazuddin Siddhiqui starrer ‘Bole Chidiyan’ movie. As per reports, Mouni Roy is no longer part of this movie. The producer of the film, Rajesh Bhatia claimed that Mouni was being ‘irresponsible’, while the Mouni’s spokesperson alleged that the makers were unprofessional and not her.
