Overview
Tinaa Datta is an Indian Television actress, popularly known for her work in Uttaran as Ichha. She rose to fame with Uttaran, and it was then when her popularity got massively sprawled.
Early Life & Family
Tinaa Datta was born in Kolkata, in West Bengal. She has an elder brother, Debraj Datta. Growing up, Tinaa wanted to be an air hostess. However, as she grew, with her being trained in dancing, and arrival of films into her life, eventually her interests shifted to acting.
Datta did her schooling from Meghmala Roy Education Center (Behala), and St. Paul’s Boarding and Day School.
Relationships
Tina was in a brief relationship with her supervising producer of the show Koi Aane ko hai, Mahesh Kumar Jaiswal. However, their relationship didn’t last very long, as they broke up. Datta informed in an interview once, that it didn’t turn out to be a very happy relationship as she had to go through a lot of complications.
However, eventually, she was rumored to be dating a businessman, Paresh Mehta. Though no confirmation has been intrude, it was in the talk of the town.

Tina began her career with a Bengali film in 2003, Tharak. Though a small role, she was noticed by other filmmakers as she went on to be cast in yet another Bengali film Chokher Bali, along with Aishwarya Rai and Raima Sen. She played the role of Manorama. In 2005, she got the biggest break of her career at the age of 19, where she played the role of young teenage Lalita, in Parineeta. It starred Saif Ali Khan, Vidya Balan, and Sanjay Dutt. Acting along with such big names was a great thing, and this gave a spur to her career ahead. She did a few regional TV series in Bengali including Khela, Durga and I laugh you.
It was in the year 2009 that she was seen in Colors’ Uttaran. With her role as Iccha, her performance, and work was appreciated by the mass. Her chemistry with Rashmi Desai, who played the role Tapasya, was awed by many. She went to win many awards for best actress to her name, including Producers Guild Film Awards, and Golden Petal Awards.
Datta was then seen in the seventh season of Colors’ Fear Factor: khatron ke khiladi. Though she couldn’t be in the finals, and she was evicted, her performance and courage was lauded was many.
In 2017, she played the role of Dhamini, wife of Shani in Colors’ show Shani. It ran till 2018 completing 346 episodes. From 2018 to 2019 she was seen in & TV’s Daayan, in the role of Jahnvi Chaudhry/Kundani Roy.
Controversies/Affairs/Why in News?
In 2019, Tina Datta accused her co star from Daayan, Mohit Malhotra, of touching her inappropriately during the shoot of a scene. However, the matter was doused soon, and her and Mohit agreed to make a new start, ironing out the differences.
