Overview
Nazriya Fahadh is a very popular Indian Film actress and a producer and mainly works in Malayalam Cinema. She also worked in many Tamil movies as well. Nazriya started her career by hosting a Malayalam television and later she pursued her career as an actress in the industry. She also worked as a child actress in ‘Palunku’ (2006). Nazriya debuted with her first film ‘palunku’ only. Being a talented actress she is also a playback singer, a producer and a TV host.
She did many films and entertained her audience for years. She is currently married to Fahadh Faasil and during her marriage she took a break from her films and again came back with films in 2018. They both got married in 2014 in Thiruvananthapuram. Nazriya received many awards for her performances in the films. She sang many songs in Malayalam such as – ‘La La Lasa’.
Early Life & Family
Nazriya Nazim was born on 20 December, 1994 in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala. She changed her name to Nazriya Fahadh after getting married to Fahadh Fassil in 2014. She lived with her mother- Begum Beena who is a homemaker, her father- Nazimuddeen who is a entrepreneur and her brother Naveen in her hometown, Kerala. She was born in Muslim family and her family lived in UAE before they moved to Thiruvananthapuram.
Nazriya said that she wanted to study business and she may either take up commerce or BBA course. While she was studying in college she was also engaged in shooting her films and because of that she has to leave her college midway as she was busy in her acting schedule. Nazriya was just 19 when she got married to her husband, Fahadh Fassil who was 32 then. She pursued her degree in business from Mar Ivanious College. Before being an actor she first hosted an Asianet reality talent competition called Munch Star Singer.
Relationship
Currently, Nazriya Nazim is married to her spouse named Fahadh Fassil. They met for the first time while shooting ‘Bangalore Days’. Fahadh is an actor as well. They both played role of a husband and wife in that film. Soon in 2014, they decided to get marry and at that time Nazriya was 19 and Fahadh was 32. For a short time, Nazriya stopped working in films and again started working back in 2018 in the films. Another actress named, Nithya Menen also played a small role in the film.
In an interview, she said that she was the reason that Nazriya and Fahadh married each other. Because she was the one whom the lead role was offered but she denied because she was already engaged in filming her other films and because she denied the lead role was passed to Nazriya. So, as Nithya didn’t worked in the film and Nazriya got to play the lead role it was during the film when they both started falling for each other. Fahadh said that it was Nazriya who proposed first. It was then when Nazriya realized that he is the one and that she wants to marry him.
Fahadh also said that her mother was fond of Nazriya after watching her on TV shows. When Fahadh was asked about his relationship he said that “Even though I have bee in love in the past I have never looked at anyone that way I looked at her”. He also revealed that he will be taking care of home while Nazriya is working on her films.
Professional Career: Popular Movies/TV Series (If any)
Nazriya Nazim started her career by hosting a Muslim oriented television quiz ‘Punyamaasathiloode’. Later she debuted with her film ‘palunku’ in 2006. She acted as a child actor in that film and she played the character of daughter of Mammootty’s. Also she kept hosting many shows and was constant on television. The film in which she played the female lead was in ‘maad dad’ in 2013. She did a romantic thriller movie ‘neram’ in Tamil and Malayalam. This was one of the most appreciated and popular film of Nazriya.
Gautaman Bhaskaran from Hindustan Times puts his opinion for Nazriya as “the one person who caught my attention was Nazriya Nazim who as Arya’s lover Keerthana is absolutely gorgeous with a face that is so expressive that we do not need her to speak”. Her few popular films are-Trance (2020), Raja Rani (2013), Kumbalangi Nights (2019), Varathan (2018), Maad dad (2013), Pramani (2010). Nazriya is a playback singer also and sang many songs such as – ‘la la lasa’ (2014), ‘ente kannil ninakkai’ (2014), ‘puthiyoru pathayil’ (2018), ‘nee’ (2018) and sand all the songs in Malayalam language.
Controversies/Affairs/Why in News?
There are few controversies related to Nazriya Nazim. She was into controversy because Nayantara slammed the Nazriya for creating the controversy. She accused the Tamil movie director, Sarkunam for using body double to shoot an intimate scene without her permission in the film. Nazriya was not comfortable with scene in the movie where Dhanush touches her navel. But the director says that it was done with the permission of Nazriya.
Lastly, Nazriya filed a complaint against the director and producer of the film. Nazriya eventually settled the issue and said that the controversy occurred due to miscommunication between them.
Nazriya was once unofficially banned from Kollywood. She was into controversy because of the allegations. She alleged that director Sarkunam threatened her for disrespecting her community has irked the industry men.
